Have a look at these eye traffic research images, not only do they show you that people really do look at the top left of a search results page (also known as the Google Golden Triangle) but they also show the importance of Google Places (if you’re a local business) and the importance of doing videos.
Any business should be making short informative videos, hosting them on You Tube and also embedding them into your website and its really not that hard to do. You can see from the images below that video thumbnails stick out like a sore thumb – no pun intended! As do Google Places listings with their pins.
