Very often you’ll see listings from Yell, BT, Freeindex and the like and getting your listing into one of these is certainly worth thinking about. Many of these basic listings are free and at worst you’ll get a link back to your website and at best you’ll stand a chance to get your company profile that you’ve set up with these sites showing up in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page).
I often meet local business owners who say, “ah yes, I’m on Google, you’ll see me Yell” isn’t much better to appear in your own right and for it be absolutely obvious who you are. Nothing against Yell but very often all you can see is the Yell stuff, you’re expecting the searcher to dig around for your information which they’re not likely to do.
Have a look at this search that I performed recently, I actually did it on my phone because I was locked out at the time, I knew the person I wanted because I knew them from business networking, but I couldn’t see them straight away even though this is a really local search. I did look on Yell and they were the third listing, still not very apparent!
Our service makes it easier to be found locally, when you consider that 40% of all searches on Smart Phones include a location (just like me when I was locked out) you really owe to yourself to be founds as easily as possible!
